Room Information

“Butterflies” is our baby unit. Our homely environment has been commended as being a stimulating environment for little ones “Babies have strong bonds with staff who are intuitive to their needs”.

Throughout the day babies enjoy sensory experiences and our beautiful treasure baskets are filled with many objects to satisfy curious minds.

We sing lots of nursery rhymes and action songs and like to play musical instruments and make up our own tunes.

The baby unit lead practitioners are always providing new and exciting activities and resources and they love to get messy!. Key workers make special relationships with babies and their families.

Babies have their own safe and secure baby garden within our main garden areas here they love to be physical and explore nature. Babies really enjoy getting out and about in the local community and sit in prams waving and smiling to passers by.

Your baby will play with friends of a similar age / stage of development and as babies are getting ready to leave the baby unit they will have more opportunities to mix with our younger two year olds.

Our butterflies are brilliant!

“Gardeners” these are our two years olds. The rooms are large and bright and equipped with a variety of resources to satisfy curious minds. Our two year olds experience music lessons, yoga and mindfulness, dance and movement, lots of messy play and other physical activities. We follow the EYFS curriculum in preparation for transition to our preschool.

Children in gardeners are developing to be steady walkers and good talkers and have lots and lots of energy. There is a lot of toilet training in this room with all manner of potties and tiny toilets to be used.

Your child will enjoy self registration, visit their own tray to store their belongings and any art work, listen to short interactive stories with props and puppets. Your two year old can join in at news time , singing time and can snuggle in and read books – two year olds delight in new activities . We offer therapeutic play activities to help to deal with strong emotions. We love to hear their stories about home and their families.

Throughout the day, your child will explore and play alongside their friends and laugh and giggle as they enjoy creative activities ,dance and jump about. They may go to feed the ducks, climb on the climbing equipment, run around the garden, play in the sandpit, look for bugs in the ‘secret garden’, bake and all this before lunchtime!

Our gardeners are incredibly active and interested in everything!

Pre school

Our pre schoolers are amazing ! They negotiate, make up the most interesting games, build close , special friendships and become totally engrossed in their play. They can follow complex instructions, ask the most taxing questions and are learning to make sense of the world around them.

Curriculum enhancements include yoga, sports and music lessons.

Throughout the day, the children in pre school enjoy a variety of self chosen activities , and have the opportunity for small group language/numeracy activities with our qualified, experienced lead. At story time, they sit and listen on the carpet  to their favourite tales and even remember what happens next and very often they like to act out the storyline.

“The environment is rich and alive with learning experiences that engage and motivate children’s learning”.

The pre school practitioners are skilled in ‘school readiness’- they support all children to become more independent and excellent communicators. We work closely with a speech and language therapist to monitor speech and language, and to provide activities for children to move onto the next stage of development.
